OnRelay Launches Global Mobile Business Phone Service in 25 Countries

(San Francisco, California, August 31, 2016) OnRelay announces the general availability of its mobile business phone service in 25 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific. The service uses standard cellular networks in every country and now has the same fixed monthly per user price in all markets.

OnRelay’s global launch is much more than expanded market reach. OnRelay now provides all customers with a global internal extension dial plan. Staff can choose which of their company’s global numbers they would like to use when placing and receiving calls, giving them full control over their customer interactions. For example, a staff member in San Fransisco can make and receive calls with a Sydney company number using US cellular minutes. And likewise, someone based in London can make and receive calls with a New York City company number using UK cellular minutes.

OnRelay enables any small company to become an international customer facing business overnight. A single OnRelay global service instance means companies of any size can build cross-country mobile business phone systems with local office numbers at any country location. Each company also gets a central, global or per country live operator(s) and auto-attendant(s), which can transfer to staff extensions in any country.

Ralf Brandt, CEO of VivoPharm (www.vivopharm.com.au, Australia, Germany, UK, USA) comments, “I was searching for a long time to find a telephone service combining PBX capabilities for the business with cellular comfort and mobility. Furthermore, I wanted to get employees onto one handheld device only instead of carrying a personal cell phone and a business cell phone. Last but not least I was looking for a solution, which is not based on VoIP, which is not reliable on cellular data lines. OnRelay provides solutions to all topics mentioned above and on top of that it’s allowing to place calls for reasonable costs between our sites in the US, Germany, Australia and Great Britain and any phone line or cell phone in those countries. The call quality is superb, connection times reasonable. Separation of personal cellular calls and PBX quality business calls is easy and employees are very happy with using their personal cell phones with the OnRelay app to place high quality business calls.”

Jude Walsh, Managing Director of GED Academy (www.passged.co.za, South Africa), says: “I have been looking for a system like OnRelay locally and did not find what I was looking for! Now my business operates successfully from Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg from my cellphone! I highly recommend OnRelay for small- to medium-sized businesses.”

“I promise we will continue to provide our stellar support and continuously improve so as to keep the service as affordable as humanly and technically possible,” says Marie Wold, OnRelay’s President & CFO. “Companies with 5-50 people that do business globally or pan-regionally, such as throughout Europe, need local numbers to interact with their customers. And any company, no matter its size, can benefit from answering their company calls in a professional manner using a low-cost, mobile business phone system such as OnRelay.”

OnRelay Mobilizes its Administrators with version 6.1

(San Francisco, January 21, 2016) OnRelay today released version 6.1 of its cellular business phone service for general availability. In version 6.1, OnRelay adds a number of powerful management features that allow customer administrators to manage their business phone service from their mobile apps.

A major part of running a business is to ensure important calls are properly handled by its organization. With OnRelay 6.1 administrators can add, remove and update users directly from their mobile apps. Importantly, administrators can disable users that have lost or displaced their smartphones, they can forward their calls to other staff members, and they can register new cell numbers for staff with new contracts. For new users available numbers from the company dial plan can be assigned as the administrator sees fit.

Administrators can also create, modify and remove mainline call groups from their mobile app. After a call group change, a new corresponding mainline auto-attendant voice menu is auto-generated with OnRelay’s text-to-speech engine. It is thereafter easy to track staffs’ call group memberships.

Says Ivar Plahte, OnRelay CEO: “When managing a mobile office phone service it is easy to neglect the importance of enabling customer administrators fast and mobile access to management functions. Since our business phone service is mobile, we find it natural to incorporate administration features within our live user directory of the mobile app, blurring the distinction between using and managing the service.”

OnRelay’s Mobile Office Phone service is available for direct orders via PayPal using any credit or debit card at www.onrelay.com/order
The OnRelay Office Phone app can be downloaded from Google Play and Apple iTunes.

OnRelay Takes Businesses Cellular with Version 6

(San Francisco, CA, June 03, 2015) OnRelay today released version 6 of its cellular business phone service for general availability. Highlights of the major upgrade include improvements to OnRelay’s mainline feature, which enables a mobile workforce to manage and distribute customer calls using standard cellular connections.

OnRelay allows its customers to take their business phone systems 100% mobile, relying on the ever-improving quality and performance of smartphones and cellular networks.

Says Jerry Johnson of Monte Johnson Insurance based in Tulelake, CA and Klamath Falls, OR: “We have tried traditional analog PBX, VOIP and now cellular. Due to our office location and poor availability of other carriers or options, this has been the best experience we have had in over three years. We have moved our whole staff to OnRelay and the effeciency and call quality are the best we’ve had in a long time.”

Complete control of availability for office calls is another key benefit of the OnRelay service. Richard Knight of Korts & Knight, an interior architecture firm with offices in San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY, says: “ I am ‘in the office’ wherever I may be, and still can control with ease what calls ring on my phone.”

For many organisations it is critical to keep track of all office calls, including cell calls, for billing, customer management and compliance purposes. With OnRelay, cell calls are included in the business call history accessible from the OnRelay web portal. “I am thrilled with the call logs”, says Edward J Tracy, Attorney, from Newton, TX.

Martin David, CEO of preferred partner Connect Everywhere of Carlsbad, CA says: “We, at Connect Everywhere, are delighted to be able to offer the latest version of the OnRelay mobile office phone system. The advancements that v6 brings provide significant improvements to a system that already allows businesses to deploy a feature rich, cloud based phone system using just their smartphones and therefore eliminating the costs associated with hardware, cabling, installation, and maintenance contracts.”

With version 6, a new ‘Operator’ group allows group members to flexibly take on a receptionist role by answering mainline calls before they reach the auto-attendant voice menu. Each call group also has a shared voice mail box accessible from the mobile app for all group members. OnRelay’s parallel call group feature has been further enhanced with the ability for administrators to edit, add and remove call groups directly from the OnRelay smartphone app. Corresponding voice prompts and auto-attendant voice menus are auto generated.

Another notable new feature is the ability to selectively dial out from either the direct inward dialling office number or from the company main number. This allows business users to control the routing and management of return customer calls. When business contacts are called from the direct inward dialling number, return calls reach the user’s smartphone directly and display as office calls. When customers are called from from the company main number, return calls are handled by the mainline auto-attendant, receptionists and associated call groups.

“Small businesses using landline oriented phone systems struggle with managing customer calls professionally as their workforces grow increasingly mobile”, says Ivar Plahte, OnRelay’s CEO. “With this release, we remain far ahead with offering a complete business phone service for a virtual workforce that relies on smartphones and standard cellular connections for their communications needs.”

OnRelay version 6 further includes a significant number of sub-system upgrades as well as scalability and reliability improvements. It also includes a mobile UI refresh for both iOS and Android.
The OnRelay app is available for download on both Google Play and Apple iTunes Connect. The OnRelay service may be ordered at http://www.onrelay.com/order or by contacting sales@onrelay.com.

OnRelay’s Office Phone with Carrier WiFi Dialling

(PRWeb, San Francisco, California, 6 October 2014) OnRelay today launched support for Android’s WiFi dialling feature.  OnRelay’s Office Phone service seamlessly supports WiFi dialling using native smartphone mechanisms and carrier supported voice over WiFi connectivity.  With OnRelay, users can via regular smartphone settings chose how and when WiFi dialling is used as an alternative bearer to cellular for their business calls.

Customers benefit from WiFi dialling at locations that have poor cellular coverage and by saving on cellular roaming costs when travelling internationally.

Use of the WiFi dialling feature is currently available to OnRelay’s Android users (v5.2.3 onwards) without any system or configuration changes. WiFi dialling is  offered by T-Mobile and Sprint on select handsets in the US, and has been announced by AT&T for release in 2015. OnRelay will support WiFi dialling for other carriers and devices as and when it becomes available.

Says Ivar Plahte, OnRelay’s CEO: “This is a great example of how our patented technology can be used to signal advanced proprietary comms features over any standard bearer. The WiFi dialling feature relies on device registrations with carrier soft-switches. Hence, proprietary VoIP apps as offered by PBX manufacturers, virtual PBXs and over-the-top IP communication providers can, to the contrary, not make use of this feature.” He continues: “OnRelay has previously taken a conservative approach with voice over WiFi and VoIP apps due to operational complexities, lack of carrier support and poor device integration. But with fully integrated support of WiFi dialling from both device manufacturers and carriers, we are able to support WiFi dialling for our customers in a seamless, future proof and cost-efficient manner.”

OnRelay Releases Version 5.2 with Powerful Mobile PBX Features

(San Francisco, California, 23 March 24) OnRelay today released its Office Phone app version 5.2 with an additional set of features that further allows business customers to cut their landlines and desk-phones.

Based on feedback from its customers, OnRelay is adding another set of advanced Mobile PBX features.  The features are designed to allow smartphone users to effectively manage group calls and receptionist calls, enhancing existing mainline and call groups features:

  • Called number and call group display: In addition to caller ID, the incoming dial screen now also indicates the called number. This means it displays whether the user’s direct inwards dialling (DID) number was called, whether a mainline or call group number was called, or whether the call was transferred from someone else internally.  This greatly helps busy high call volume users separate between direct calls and parallel group calls.
  • Call transfer: Smartphone users can now transfer calls to other colleagues.  Calls can be transferred via the online directory with a click of a button, where the presence indicator also indicate whether the colleague is already engaged in a call or set to do not disturb.
  • Ad-hoc conference: Smartphone users can add and drop internal and external conference participants on the fly with a single click, enabling collaboration within the organisation and with customers.

As before the features are uniquely available to smartphone users via standard cellular voice connections over any cellular carrier.

“With this release we continue our commitment to allow business customers to go fully mobile with their phone systems,” says Ivar Plahte, OnRelay’s CEO. “We appreciate all the good input and feedback from our initial customer base, and will continue to innovate and adapt our service to their needs. We have a unique technology to allow cellular users a complete Mobile PBX feature set, and these are further examples of what we can do.”

Version 5.2 is currently available for Android with iPhone soon to follow.

OnRelay Launches on iTunes Connect

(PRWEB, San Francisco, California, 7 November 2013) OnRelay’s Mobile Office Phone service is now available as an in-app subscription service on iTunes Connect. OnRelay also adds several key features including an auto-provisioned fixed-mobile user license.

OnRelay launched its Mobile Office Phone for Android on Google Play earlier in 2013, and is aggressively growing the service across the US via a rapidly expanding agent network.

“We put mobile first when building a modern and world leading business communications system,” says Ivar Plahte, OnRelay’s CEO. “Users self-register via their Office Phone app to seamlessly manage their business calls, availability, call group participation and business voice mails from their smartphones.”

With this release OnRelay continues on its path to eliminate unnecessary hardware and desk-phone implementations, while still allowing desk-phone and PC softphone users the leading fixed mobile convergence experience in the market. Aleksandra Pupkina of Palm Beach Casino Tours, Florida, says: “We have used the OnRelay Office Phone service for several months and are impressed by how well it ties together our smartphones with our deskphones and PC softphones. We can still keep our cell numbers private, and the service gives us a lot more flexibility with how and from where we manage our business calls and voice mails.”

OnRelay has set the standard for cellular PBX implementations. Its US patent no 6,993,360 for a Mobile Branch Exchange is now referenced from 51 subsequent patents from the likes of Cisco, Avaya, NEC, AT&T, Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson, Samsung and Sprint. With OnRelay, the Mobile Office Phone app has the same cellular voice quality and coverage that users are accustomed to.

“We predicted early on that carriers would transition towards fixed rate packages for cellular voice. So our unique Mobile PBX technology was designed from the outset to use the standard cellular voice bearer rather than less reliable VoIP over mobile data or WiFi connections,” says Plahte. “And for users that still prefer to pair their smartphone with a desk-phone or PC softphone, OnRelay’s support for landline VoIP extensions is second to none.”

OnRelay’s Mobile Office Phone service is available for signups in the US and the UK at:
